PSC and PP vote together again not to support a vote for independence in Tarragona

PSC and PP have joined forces again, this time in Tarragona, to defeat the motion in support of a municipal referendum on independence. The selectpeople from ERC (2) and CiU (8), who voted in favor, were not enough in face of the selectpeople from PSC (11) and PP (4). The Tarragona City Government, which is governed by PSC and ERC, has thus denied the motion, which had been presented by ERC. The PSC justified its vote arguing that the right to decide on independence is not contemplated by the Estatut [Statute of Autonomy].

This week will also see votes on motions of support for independence referendums in the council meetings in Sant Feliu de Llobregat and Ripoll.
